[10:41] nadi (Nara Zsun): starts harvesting the stalks and handing them to the Mistress
[10:41] Aphris Myoo takes the stalk and removes the leaves dividing them over the grass and the stalks in the basket
[10:41] nadi (Nara Zsun): aaahh yes Mistress so sorry. Places her ulo back into her pouch, and begins to twist the stems from the roots

[10:42] Aphris Myoo feels in the soil and finds the root of which the stalk was cutted, she rips of the rot out of the ground "we can not eat roots, but i heard that these roots contain a potion which works laxating"
[10:43] Aphris Myoo: maybe i can serve the food with some rhubarb roots, the strangers of a city will eat the roots, and our men not. That will be funny if those vermins will shit their pants full
[10:43] nadi (Nara Zsun): OOO grins and imagines the Mistress preparing just a potion to aid the outriders when they have eaten to heartily snickers softly

[10:46] Aphris Myoo accepts another stalk and cuts away the leaves which she afterwards will gather in a sack and store in her wagon

[10:48] Aphris Myoo: in the weekend, its quite simple meal, only the harvesting is more complex, which we do now

[10:50] Aphris Myoo: I am only doubting if i will make a stew with the rhubarb or give it as cooked vegetable next to the stew, i think the latter, since stew sometimes is simmer for days, and then the rhubarb will be destroyed totally

Poison

[06:24] Aphris Myoo walks from the map room to teh docks of the Gorean campus, at her right side she sees the infirmary and that brings her on an idea
[06:25] Aphris Myoo she checks if she has her sack with rhubarb leaves still with her and enters the physician station, she seeks for the pharmacy lab and finds it upstairs
[06:27] Aphris Myoo goes to the microscope and lays a leave under it, she studies the structure, but not being educated as a herbalist or physician, she does not see something special, the poison must be in the leaves it self, not on the surface
[06:34] Aphris Myoo takes a book from the desk "herbal medicine from wild plants". She seeks the page where it describes the working of rhubarb leaves "the rhubarb leaves can produce oxalic acids, which can b used to prevent blood from clotting because the oxolates mix with the calcium which makes blood clot"bon

[06:40] Aphris Myoo is not really interested in the oxolates as medicine, so she reads further "small portions of oxalic acid can cause irritation of the throat. In greater quantities it can affect the kidneys, by forming kidney stones". The Kataii free woman makes an evil grin realizing this is a wy to give an opponent a very painfull period
[06:43] Aphris Myoo continues exploring the book "in greater quantities, it can cause breathing problems by causing damage to the airways ad lungs, Which in the end could lead to death", Aphris nods because this is getting better and better, such a poison could give an enemy a slow death, being suffocate for days, maybe weeks and then die like a fish at the shore, breathing but not getting oxygen.
[06:45] Aphris Myoo gets at the final paragraph "the oxolate can also cause irritation at the eyes, making them burn and red. In the end this could cause blindness "hmm, also a good solutions to make an end of a career of an all to ambitious outrider"
[06:46] Aphris Myoo now follows the books instruction to extract the acid from the leaves. She cuts them in small stripes and lays them in the water filled glass globe
[06:48] Aphris Myoo places the Bunsen burner under the water filled globe and heats it till the mass of rhubarb lave stripes and water cooks. She let it cook for 20 minutes as the book instructs.
[07:02] Aphris Myoo takes the laboratory globe from the burner and let it cool of. She then let the fluid go through a sieve to make sure, the leave remnants stay behind and puts the acquired oxalic acid in a small bottle she has found in the infirmary room.
[07:03] Aphris Myoo: After the work is done, she cleans the instrument used, also the desk she had been working on. Nobody needs to know she has been here. She puts the bottle in her robe and leaves the physicians station.

[10:24] nadi (Nara Zsun): moves harta to the shelves to take down a jar of sugar. Turning carries it to the Mistress's table and sits it there for her to measure into the pot. Returns to the cupboard and bends to remove a pot. Turning on her heel walks to the water barrel and dips out a pot full of water. Slowly carries the pot of water to the kettle over the embers, and pours in the water.
[10:26] nadi (Nara Zsun): bends down and adds some dried bosk chips to the embers, stirring the fire so a low burn
[10:26] Aphris Myoo chops the rhubarb stalks in small pieces, she delegate this task to the slave girl, but she prefers not to temp the girl by letting her work with a knife, she is a too suspicious free woman for that, with a born mistrust against female pleasure slaves
[10:28] Aphris Myoo watches the fire under the cooking pot and nods satisfied, she finishes the chopping work and goes to the cooking pot

[10:37] Aphris Myoo watches Nadi at the cooking pot, since this meal is simple, it's a good one to learn the girls something. But of course when the fire would be to high the golden orange rhubarb would change into a black burned mass of vegetables

[11:03] ŐℜİA (0Subira Resident) opened the cold box and retrieved a nice fresh bowl of paga, not even frozen yet, but chilled. The slave moved back to present it to the Haruspex, "Master, your delicious cold paga," she said in a positive tone.
