Nadi polishes Hakimba's boots

[13:15]  Nadi kneels...kissing her Masters feet.... waves as he departs for scouting the plains. Walking back to the basin of water....finishes the dishes an pans from her Master's breakfast....nadirah.....dries her hands on a rep cloth. Gazes around as she steps though the heavy fold of leather that serves as a door on his wagon. Crimson lips curl in the corners of her mouth as a bright smile covers her delicate face. Adjusting the new camisk she made from the colorful pink an purple cloth her Master recently bought for her...she steps out into the camp.

[13:16]  Nadi feels the warmth of the Spring sun touching her face and shoulders. Searching under the wagon nadirah finds a large two handled basket. On tiny dancing feet she moves to each wagon collecting the boots, sandals an leather slippers that have been set outside for her to polish. After gathering them....she moves through the new grass growing along her path....the feel between her toes and beneath her feet exhilarating...inhaling the smells of springtime...green eyes sparkle like emerald jewels in the warm sun. Spying some pretty fragrant pink flowers growing in a clump of prairie grass..she sits down her basket...and starts to weave a wreath...placing it on her head ....makes a bracelet and an anklet....smiles with pleasure as she picks up her basket an moves on.

[13:17]  Nadi returning to the wagon... sets the rather smelly basket of foot apparel down. Spreading out a large fur in front of her Master's wagon so she can watch for his return. Places a small stool on the fur. Retrieves a small wooden box of shoe polishes her Master bought for her on his travels. Opens the jar of polish...taking a rep cloth swipes it through the polish and picks up a boot. Humming a joyful tune begins to move the polish around on the worn leather in small circles. nadirah inhales the fresh air... her eyes sparkle as she goes about her chore.

[13:17]  Nadi continues at a steady pace...the warm sun and spring air making her chore a pleasant job. nadirah reflects on her happiness living with her Master...the joy of the camp. Wishing she could remember her past...but sure at sometime it would return to her. She stops a moment to stroke her temple....happy the headaches have stopped from her accident. With a greatful heart to the Master she adores for saving her from what very likely would have been a life as a paga slave sold at an auction...a shiver runs up her spine.

[13:17]  Nadi buffing the last sandal with vigor....nadirah lets out a sigh of relief as she stands looking down on the array of shiny foot wear. Wiping the beads of moisture from her forehead with the back of her tiny hand...she sets them in matching pairs back in the two handled basket and stands. Placing the polish an rags back in the wooden box she closes it tight....setting it back under the wagon on the small shelf. Shakes out the fur...then rolls it into a tight coil....tying it with a rence cord...lays it back under the wagon.

[13:18]  Nadi picks up the basket an returns each polished boot, sandal and slipper to the right wagon. Stops next to a tem tree thanking the sweet jard for it's song greeting the spring....nahirah closes her deep green eyes and listens. The jard sings happily, the bosk snort and grunt content with eating the new grass. A gentle prairie breeze blows through her long auburn hair..as nadirah thinks this must be a new beginning for her as well as for the plains. With great joy in her heart she returns to her Master's wagon to wait for his return.
