Lady Kata comes for an omen reading

[11:35]  Kutai: Greetings Lady
[11:36]  Kata nods her head forward slightly, offering a cool, measured, "Tal." She looked the Free Woman over, before turning her eyes to the man again. "I hear readings are done here. Is it so?"
[11:38]  Kutai looks at the Lady in red "I am Kutai, i am a harusphex, I sometimes do an omen reading wenn there is a reason for"
[11:39]  Kata raised an eyebrow - the only visible gesture from beneath her heavy veils. "Then I would have you do an Omen reading for me, Harusphex Kutai. I am to be companioned soon, and taken from one extreme to another. I would think that sufficient reason."
[11:40]  Kutai hears the words of the free woman of the warriors caste "from one extreme to the other? What do you mean? "
[11:41]  Kata: looks at him pointedly, her voice cold and guarded. Emotionless. "From bondage to freedom. Will you do the reading?"
[11:43]  Kutai looks annoyed at her because of her commanding way of speech "I don't even know your name, dear lady of the red, maybe you are a city we are at war with, a harusphex is a priest, not a merchant who can be hired"
[11:45]  Kata looks over at him, before folding her hands primly in front of her. "Apologies" She states - not begging, or asking for forgivenes,s but laying it out there. "I hail from the village of Carn, in the Olni-Vosk region. My name is Kata. My Intended is commander there, and I would see if the omens protend good or ill for our future."
[11:46]  Kutai nods more satisfied, now the lady give him more information, since without a clue who the Lady is, an good omen reading is hardly possible, since h would not know what to look for "well met Lady Kata of Carn"
[11:47]  Kata gave a single nod. "Well met, Haruspex Kutai."
[11:48]  Kutai: In this case, since you are the pretended of a high placed person of the warrior caste, and your companionship effects more then your person only. I am prepared to do an omen reaing."he looks at the lady "i giess you have a sacrifice animal, of which I can read the liver?"
[11:49]  Kata raised ane yebrow, "Would a bosk calf be appropriate?"
[11:51]  BBB Bosk calf: lets out a soft Moo and follows
[11:52]  Kutai hears that she has a bosk calf to be sacrificed, since the bosk is a holy animal for the Tuchuks he is eluctant to kill it "hm, a bosk calf is suitable, but I will add it to the herds then, we don;t like killing bosks, I will take a verr for in its place to sacrifice it"
[11:53]  Kata nods, gesturing for another to take the animal away. "So be it. Forgive me for any offense caused. I am sure he will grow strong and serve you well. A verr it is then."
[11:54]  Kutai: "killing bosks is a high offense at the wagonpeople, anyway without good reason, since we must eat too"he thinks a moment "however killing a bosk without reason, is a capital offense. But the calf s stil alive, so no harm is done" he walks to the altar "follow me ladies"
[11:58]  Kata follows, without a word - her bearing is stiff, imperious.

[12:00]  Kutai has already laid a verr at the altar, he however has not killed it yet "aah there you are, this is our altar"
[12:03]  Kutai takes a bucket from under the altar, and places it near the to be killed verr. His eyes speed over the plains for a kajira to carry the bucket, but he sees none, all are probably doing chores "watch out lady, this will be a bit messy" saying this, he makes asmall incision in the verrs neck and sees how the blood streams out into the bucket, which he holds so that none is spilled at the ground"
[12:04]  Kata frowns thoughtfully from beneath the veil, craning her head over despite trying to stay away from the gore - however, she does not shy away from the sight.
[12:06]  Kutai sees that the lady is not afraid of the blood, which shows that she is worthy her caste. He takes the ritual quiva again and slices open the belly of the now death verr. He folds open the stomach and the intesties are visible for him now. His eyes see the liver, which he takes out carefully, and lays at the stone plate of the altar, the dead corps, he pushes in the grass. That could be taken away later wehn a kajira or kajirus was available to do that lowly task
[12:10]  Kata frowns thoughtfully, trying to look over the belly, the intestines, the stomach , the liver - trying to see if she can make out any of what he sees. Her lips purse from behind the veil, folding her hands again in front of her as she waits for him.
[12:13]  Kutai lays he liver next to the stone replica, with the sacred instruction how to read in the future. Instructions only learned at by haruspices and men of the white caste of the initiate. He studies the liver. He knows that instructions are not enough, maybe for cheap white caste members who make a living of cheating people with false omens. No he knows as high haruspex of the Tuchuk that a holy connection to the Open Sky is needed too"
[12:13]  Kata does not try to read the manual, merely waiting for his announcements. She fidgets, trying to restrain herself from asking what he sees. It would come in tim.
[12:15]  Kutai thinks about the womans words, he sees several paths. One path leads to slavery, certainly a path to be avoided, he sees new life too, the path he chooses must be safe for that too. He sees emptiness in the dark path and some red veins in the path of freedom.
[12:17]  Kata remaisn silent, waiting. She thought about her recent escape from the hold of steel, her concerns over the heat she has bruied, smothered, swallowe din robes. She reminds herself she has a core of steel - a Free Woman. Thoughts of intrigue, of power, of position....She sighs. Looking to him as he studies the liver.
[12:19]  Kutai combines reality and divine insights in his omens, he knows the woman was enslaved, her way shws temperament, a dangerous combination for free woman, who's slave fire once was lit. An companionship wuld be the best solution, and the livr does not speak against tha, because the red bllod veins are the sign of the warrior who wants her "the omen is positive for your companionship, Lady Kata"
[12:21]  Kata looks at him thoughtfully, then nods. "Thank you, Haruspex."
[12:22]  Kutai looks at her "i am glad I could be off help, in case of a companionship, an omen reading is not a bad thing to do"
[12:23]  Kata managed a weak smile, before nodding. "Indeed. You have my gratittude. I will seek you out again, if I have such pressing matters."
